The 14-minute experimental fashion short film HÓNG uses nine sets of costumes and seven constructed scenes to review the development and evolution of feminism in post -1949 China, blurring the cultural and political experiences of three generations of women into one abstract character.
The film draws inspiration from many classic cultural works, including traditional Chinese opera, model plays, and the aesthetic essence of different historical periods.
These influences are integrated through costume design, stage art, and other audiovisual languages, blending with postmodernist elements, we hope the creation weaves together generations of history, identity, and social change through the language of costume, movement, and cinematic abstraction.
